Vince's Bookmarks
I use Excite as my personalized
news/portal site. It does a nice job of finding and organizing
the news I'm interested in at one place. I also keep a few bookmarks there
for convenience.

Linux Resources
Yeah I use Linux. Big deal. UNIX systems (Linux included) and all
servers are big time consumers. They take a long time to get and
keep them working well. NEVER underestimate the value of your
time, as this is the major cost. Before making the leap to Linux,
at least check out
FreeBSD, another free UNIX,
and decide which one is right for you.

Hi-Fi / Mid-Fi Stereo / Home Theater Links
I use these links when I'm looking for reviews on audio equipment.
Let me know where there are other good stereo system sites. I'm
sure this is just the tip of the iceberg.
-
GoodSound - Online guide
to finding a stereo system on a budget.

on LA area dealers, a calendar of audio-related events and music
performances, and info on FM broadcasts.

cool looking zine on the net, from what I've seen so far. It's
free (no registration), and there are some okay articles and
equipment reviews. Not too many though.

Specifically the ''Home Theater Hardware'' forum.

Magazine with lots of reviews. Remember, they're big on small
systems; seperates, < 50 watts per channel, and bookshelf
speakers.
Music
- Sessions at West 54th -
A great public television program featuring today's ''great''
musicians playing live. For those of you in the Los Angeles area,
it shows on KCET
(Ch 28), Saturdays at 12:30 am (that's between Friday and
Saturday :) and on
KLCS (Ch 58),
Saturdays at 10pm. Set your VCRs!
- Launch.com - Streaming music,
music videos, and other stuff. Maybe I don't need cable anymore
to see videos...

- Supergo - The online arm
of the Santa Monica shop I go to for deals.
- BikeWorld - Online
store in Texas with great prices and service. I bought my saddle
from them
- Performance Bike -
The mailorder (and online) bike giant. Helpful articles there
too. Some of the ''Performance Bike'' badged products are good;
for example, their computers are rebadged VDO bike computers.
- Helen's Cycles -
You can't beat your local bike shop. Okay, the prices may
not be so great, but the service and knowledge is. Don't let
your LBS go out of business.
