Vincent's Photography Page

I like taking pictures. So sue me! I haven't really spent time taking good, artsy pictures. Most of mine come from vacation trips I take where I don't have a lot of time to plan my shots. I don't have a preference for type of pictures I like to take, but there have to be some people pictures on each roll.

A Little History

I've had an interest in cameras and photography since childhood. Growing up, my father had a Minolta SLR that he used to take pictures of us (his family) during camping trips. He used slide film, and every once in a while, we'd have a huge slide show.

I spent hours fooling around with the focus, aperture, shutter speed, and depth of field buttons while on the long drives to camping areas. He showed me how to work the camera, but I wasn't interested in taking pictures. I liked how it worked mechanically.

My interest in taking pictures started in my senior year of college because of Debbie. We went to high school together and she had some scrapbooks that brought back good memories. I was a bit sad that I didn't have any pictures like those of my own, so I bought a point and shoot camera and we started to take more pictures. I was a frustrated that I couldn't control all the aspects of the picture like when I used my dad's Minolta SLR. So I found Photo.Net, did some research, and bought a Canon EOS-5.
